Frequently Asked Questions

How do I import my rides?

Connect your Strava or Wahoo account in the Profile tab, then browse and select rides to import. You can also import .FIT files directly from your bike computer by opening them in ProPace via the iOS share sheet.

How is my FTP calculated?

ProPace estimates your FTP from your ride data using reverse physics — it works out how much power you must have been producing based on your speed, gradient, weight, and aerodynamics. For the most accurate result, complete a guided FTP test from the Profile tab.

How accurate are the pro comparisons?

The physics simulation accounts for gradient, wind, altitude, drafting, fatigue, and pacing strategy. Pro rider models are calibrated against real grand tour stage times with a mean error of less than 5%. However, all results are estimates — real racing involves tactics, positioning, and conditions that no simulation can perfectly replicate.

Does the app work with Garmin?

Yes. Export your ride as a .FIT file from Garmin Connect (web or app) and open it in ProPace. Most Garmin users also sync to Strava, which is the easiest import method.

Is my data private?

All ride data stays on your device. There are no accounts, no cloud sync, and no data sharing. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What does "% Pro" mean?

It compares your FTP (watts per kilogram) against a generic professional grand tour GC rider. 100% means you match their sustainable power output relative to body weight. The pro reference adjusts automatically based on your gender setting.
