ProPace is designed with your privacy in mind. Your ride data stays on your device. We do not sell, share, or monetise your personal information.
Data We Collect
The app collects GPS location data, speed, altitude, and time during ride recording. If you connect a heart rate monitor, power meter, or cadence sensor, that data is also recorded. When you import rides from Strava or Wahoo, the app receives the GPS trace and ride statistics from those services.
How We Use Your Data
All ride data is used solely to build your personal physics model (FTP estimation, speed-gradient curve, power profile) and to run stage comparisons. This processing happens entirely on your device. No ride data is sent to any server.
Local-Only Storage
Your rides, rider model, and preferences are stored locally on your device using the app's sandboxed storage. There is no cloud sync, no user accounts, and no server-side data storage. If you delete the app, all data is removed from your device.
GPS & Location Data
The app uses GPS during live ride recording to track your route. Location data is stored only as part of your ride history on-device. GPS coordinates are never transmitted to external servers except when the app fetches elevation corrections or wind data for your ride route.
Strava & Wahoo Integration
When you connect your Strava or Wahoo account, the app uses OAuth 2.0 to obtain an access token. This token is stored securely on your device using the iOS Keychain. You can disconnect these accounts at any time from the Profile screen. Ride data imported from Strava is displayed with "Powered by Strava" attribution as required by their API terms.
Weather & Elevation Data
The app fetches wind data from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) and elevation corrections from OpenTopoData to improve ride analysis. These requests send only GPS coordinates and timestamps — no personal information. Weather data provided by Open-Meteo.com under CC BY 4.0 licence.
Crash Reporting
The app uses Sentry (sentry.io) to collect crash reports and performance data. When the app crashes or encounters an error, a report is sent to Sentry containing the error details, device type, and OS version. These reports do not include your name, GPS data, ride history, or any personal information. No personally identifiable information is transmitted.
No Advertising or Tracking
The app contains no advertisements, no tracking pixels, and no user profiling. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes. The only external data transmission is crash reporting (Sentry) and weather/elevation data requests as described above.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your ride data, rider model, and preferences are stored locally on your device. You can delete individual rides from the History screen or delete all rides from Settings. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. Note: OAuth tokens (Strava/Wahoo) are stored in the iOS Keychain, which may persist after uninstall. We recommend disconnecting accounts in the app before uninstalling. On reinstall, any stale tokens are automatically cleared.
